Today is Kathy Racoosin’s Birthday and I’d like to share the card I made for her. I really tried my best to keep the card, well… “Kathy Style”! 🙂 I love how it turned out, but I’m not sure if I achieved “the look”. Lol!
Let me show you the card!
I started the card by stamping the Large Peony 4 stamp from The Ton Stamps on Neenah 80lb. cardstock in Caviar Hybrid Ink. Then I colored the image with Copic Markers. The markers I used are: R56, R89, R22, R11, YG99, YG62, YG17, G21, C3, C1, C00, and the Colorless Blender. I took a risk, not going with my usual go-to color choices, keeping Kathy’s style on my mind.
Then, I went crazy with Kathy’s “Eye Lash” technique! I didn’t stop there and I also added colorful background, applying Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide ink with sponge dauber over Tim Holtz’ Bubble Layering Stencil. I stamped the sentiment in Noir Dye ink, and die cut the panel using the largest die from The Ton’s Small Double Stitched Rectangle Dies.
Next, I created the background panel (that’s match the peony) by coloring the edge of the panel with the R56 Copic Marker. This is something I learned from Kathy also. On a black top folding A2 sized card base, I adhered the background panel and the main panel. I dressed up the card with some Dew Drops and Clear Rhinestones from The Ton, and the card was complete!
Hope you enjoyed the card! I also would like to wish Kathy a Happy Birthday! She’s been a great inspiration to me. Also, she’s one of the kindest and down-to-earth crafter/artist I know!
Thank you for stopping by! Happy crafting!
