I created 2 cards using the Zen Floral stamp set and couple of new word dies & embellishments. The Zen Floral stamp set consists of a beautifully illustrated zen florals border image, as well as loose blooms and leaves. This set is super versatile and fun to color! I made one card using the border image, and another with some loose floral images.

For the first card, I created a card with the loose images from the Zen Floral stamp set with blue, green, and silver on my mind! I love this color combination and it was a wonderful match with the striking Zen Floral images.

Here is the card:

HB_ZenFlorals_CE1

  • I stamped some loose floral images from the Zen Floral stamp set on the Bristol paper with The Ton’s Noir ink. I colored the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens, blending the colors with the Spectrum Noir Sparkle Clear pen. I let it dry completely, and cut the images.
  • On a A2 sized Bristol paper, I ink blended with distress inks (Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch). I also created the stripe background by laying the stripe stencil and wiping the colors out with the baby wipe. I wiped the edges with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with Artemio Silver Snow embossing powder and adhered it on a white card base.
  • I die cut a square on the middle of a Bristol paper and trimmed it down slightly smaller than the card base. I ink blended and heat embossed the edges the same way as the other panel and created a shaker window, using the 3mm fun foam. I adhered the shaker window panel filled with the new Clear Diamonds and some clear sequins and adhered it on the card base. I fell in love with the mini diamond embellishments “Clear Diamonds” immediately! So beautiful and a must have!
  • Then I assembled and adhered the watercolored zen floral images on 2 corners of the window. I also adhered the sentiment from the Beautiful Life stamp set (heat embossed in white) with a piece of foam tape to pop it up.
  • I die cut the word die “fabulous” from a silver glitter cardstock and a black cardstock, layered them slightly off-set and ran through the Xyron Create-a-Sticker machine. I laid down some silver embroidery thread in the middle of the card and adhered the die cut on top.
  • I finished the card off by adding some Dew Drops as well as the Clear Diamonds. I also added some white dots on the floral images using Signo white gel pen.

Now moving on the the second card! For this card, I used the beautiful Zen floral border image from the Zen Floral stamp set. I really love this border image! You could just stamp and color to create beautiful background!

Here is the card!

BH_ColorZenFloral_FE1

  • I started out by stamping the floral border image on one side of a A2 sized Bristol paper with The Ton’s Noir ink using Mini Misti stamping tool. Then I flipped the paper around and stamped the same image on the opposite side.
  • I colored the image with Stabilo68 pens and colored the background with Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens. Both were blended with clear water using the water brush. I let it dry completely and trimmed it down to 4″x5.5″.
  • I die cut the new word die “Beautiful” out of a piece of gold glitter cardstock, as well as a black fun foam. I glued them together to create more dimension.
  • I also die cut the same word die on a black cardstock trimmed down to 2.5″x5.5″ and stamped the sentiment from the Beautiful Life stamp set with VersaMark ink and heat emblossed with gold embossing powder. Then adhered it (the negative part only) on the gold glitter cardstock, which is slightly larger vertically. The negative part of the black card stock worked as a guide for placement of the word die cut on the card.
  • On a A2 sized black card base, I adhered the watercolored panel layered with the gold glitter cardstock, and the black cardstock in the middle of the card. I also glued the word die cut and finished the card off by adding some sequins from the Autumn Sunset Sequin mix.

Beary Special Birthday

Hello everyone! Hope you had a wonderful weekend! 🙂 I had a busy and fun weekend, but didn’t get to sit on my craft table much. Hopefully I could find more time to stamp, color, and get creative this week!

For today’s card, I would like to share a card I made for a dear friend of mine. She is an amazing woman and a friend, so I wanted to create a card that she’d like. So I put my beloved floral stamps aside, and created a cute critter card using MFT’s Beary Special Birthday Stamp set. I chose an adorable bear image holding a cake from the set and I enjoyed coloring it!

Here is the card!

BearCake_Sou_FE1

  • I started the card by stamping the bear holding the cake image on the Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock with Memento Tuxedo black ink. I colored with various Copic Markers and fussy cut.
  • I ink blended Distress ink (Spun Sugar & Victorian Velvet) on a Bristol cardstock. I sprinkled some water droplets and picked it up with paper towel to create some texture. I let it dry completely and die cut the cardstock down to 3.75″x5″ using Lawn Fawn’s Stitched Rectangle dies.
  • I die cut a tag with the We R Memory Keepers’ polka dot acetate sheet using Mama Elephant’s Framed Tags dies. I tied some Silver embroidery thread on top of the tag.
  • On a A2 sized cardbase, I adhered the Silver Glitter Tape from The Ton Stamps, and adhered the background panel. Then I adhered the acetate tag and bear image on top. I also stamped and heat embossed the sentiment on a black cardstock strip and adhered it on the card with some foam tape.
  • I finished the card off by adding some Darice Crystal Iridescent sequins. I also made small dots using Silver gel pens. I added Glossy Accents to the silver dots as well as the cake.

Thinking of You (Purple Onion Stamps)

Hello everyone! I’ve been so busy lately and couldn’t craft much. 😦 I’m hoping I can get more done when my kiddo goes to her new school in couple of days. She’s moving on from preschool to the public TK, and there were lots of things to prepare and functions to attend. Phew~ I’m glad I got most of the things done, and my little one is ready for her new school!

Moving on to the card I made! I recently couldn’t resist the Purple Onion stamps sale, and bought few(maybe little more than few! lol!) stamps. It was my first order and I didn’t know the stamps doesn’t come with the cling back. I bought couple of cling sheets from ebay and remedied that! ha! The stamp that I used for this card is called, Stacey Yacula Studio- Wishing (Mouse & Dandelion) and it’s simply adorable! The scene was already created within the stamp itself, so I just had to stamp and color! 🙂 They sent me couple of free sentiment stamps and I used one of them on this card.

Here is the card!

Mouse_PO_FE1

  • I stamped the image on a A2 sized Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock with Momento Tuxudo Black Ink.
  • I colored the image with various Copic markers and added some white dotted accents with white gel pen.
  • I die cut some cloud borders using Lawn Faun Puffy Cloud Borders dies. Using the die cuts as stencils, I created the cloud borders with Clarity Stencil brush and the Broken China Distress ink.
  • I stamped the sentiment with The Ton Stamp’s Noir ink using Stamp-a-ma-jig.
  • I cut down the panel to 4″x5.25″, layered with yellow cardstock slight larger than the panel, and adhered it on a A2 sized black card base.
  • I finished the card off by adding some clear sequins.

Be Yourself, Everyone Else is Taken!

Hello everyone! It’s Jenny here and I am over at The Ton blog today!

I created an elegant card with black, white, gold, and pink on my mind! I think that color combination is so elegant, bold, and feminine!

I used oldie but goodie Large Peony 1 stamp set (one of my favorite stamps sets! 🙂 ), Stripe Addict Cling Background stamp, and Get It Girl sentiment set to create this card, and I love how it turned out!

You can see how I created this card here -> The Ton blog

Blue Ranunculus – (Happy Birthday, hubby!)

Hello everyone! It’s Jenny here and I hope you are having a wonderful day! It’s my husband’s birthday today, and I would love to share the birthday card I made for him. I tried to make it not-so-feminine as much as possible, and used lots of blue, which is his favorite color! 🙂

I used Simon Says Stamp’s Sketch Ranunculus stamp set for this card, and I quite like how the card turned out, although it may have not turned out so masculine! lol!

Let me show you the card!

BlueRanunculus_FE1

  • I stamped the ranunculus images on a Bristol card stock with Versamark and heat embossed with Wow Silver embossing powder. I colored the images with various of blue and green zig markers and blended out with Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle pen. I let it dry completely and fussy cut them out.
  • On a A2 sized Bristol cardstock, I ink blended over the stripe stencil. The Distress ink pad colors I used are Salty Ocean, Mermaid Lagoon, and Blueprint Sketch. I let it dry, moved the stencil up a little, and smooshed Versamark on the cardstock, over the stencil. I removed the stencil, stamped the polka dots, using The Ton’s Polka Dot Background stamp, and heat embossed with Wow Silver embossing powder. I didn’t dust off the stray powders on the cardstock for the messy and playful look. I trimmed the panel down to 4″x5.25″
  • Then, I stamped the big Happy Birthday sentiment from Mama Elephant’s Birthday Wishes stamp set on a strip of vellum with Versamark, and heat embossed with Wow White embossing powder. I wrapped the sentiment vellum around the background panel and secured it with adhesive on the back of the panel. I cut down a white fun foam slightly smaller than the background panel and adhered it on the back with the Scor-tape.
  • I covered entire front of the A2 sized white card base with Silver Glitter paper from American Crafts, adhered the background panel on top, and adhered all the colored images some using 3M foam tape to give more dimensions.
  • I finished the card off by adding some clear sequins of various of sizes and I also added some white dots on the flowers with Signo Gel pen to add more interest.
